on comes the panic light.
Just been having a look over the collections from the designers supported by the British Fashion Council's NEWGEN scheme. It's a launch-pad for UK-based designers and showcased the late Alexander McQueen, Matthew Williamson and Julien Macdonald. So, ones to watch right?
Loved Mary Katrantzou's A/W 2010 collection-what a strong sense of style! She is originally from Greece and completed her BA and MA at Central Saint Martins. I'm a total sucker for ruffles so the Victorian-esque collars and trims are ideal, and teamed with a bold print...perfection? And all the colours used are stunning! What an artist anyway. I would happily wear every item tomorrow.

my name is geraldine, i'm your social worker.
Just found I passed one of my horrid, horrid exams so am thinking about how I can treat myself. I really want to invest in some clogs (what is everyones opinions on these?) and a smock dress, but just don't have the money at the moment. So my thoughts are of of the maxi dress and skirt below. I have the all saints boots, gilet and aa tank to make for a kick arse little outfit... I have a silence and noise little biker that could look lovely also. I then got carried away picking all the other lovely things-shame I don't own them!
These basics will be purchased Friday. Yes.

i've been saved by a woman. she won't let me go.
I have made a couple of observations today on my travels.
1. It is not tshirt weather today. By any stretch of the imagination. Please put at least some knitwear on or something before I turn into a grandma and come over and tell you how you are going to catch a death of cold.
2. All skin coloured tights should be burned. There were FOUR people in one minute wearing those hideous things. I thought they were only created for bank robbers. Apparently not. Some of them were shimmery. Vom. I think you should have black tights on or a variation of these. If not go bare legged please...and preferably if you do not get that corned beef patten/colour in the chill.
3. Mornings as beautiful as today don't come along often and should most certainly not be taken for granted. Pushy daughters wanting their parents to buy every item in Harvey Nics should be banned on these types of days. A piece of cake, coffee and walk in the park never hurt anybody-and you always wind up regretting not spending your days that way when they've passed.

This is the lucky buy that made my week... my red suede bomber jacket bought for only £10. Worn with american apparel double u dress, american apparel circle scarf and hm tights. Also had tan office brogues on that I will post a pic of later. Just had to share my new fave item before I go fooooood shopping.Big love, J X

dressed up to the eyes. it's a wonderful surprise.
Seen her live once before and will see her again in the next few month. I absolutely cannot wait. She is unlike anyone I have ever seen or heard. I was just thinking about her there after I'd been discussing the BRITs today. What. A. Voice. And those LEGS! She is my crush and it doesn't matter what she puts on her back I cannot help but love her for it. I mean look... nuff said.Big Love, J X

It has defo been one of THOSE weeks! I would possibly even go as far as months! My coat and jacket rail has given up. gone. on the floor. And I am currently sleeping around all my outer wear as it is all on my bed still on the hangers. Smart.
I broke my laptop charger-to the point where it was snapped in two. The battery was also on it's last legs. Not one of my friends chargers worked...even the one with universal heads. That has kind of been the tone of my life at the moment.
However, this has been my song of choice this awful week. Please do have a listen.

Outfit post soon. I will probs venture out tomorrow into the cold for a few shots. I got some larvely vintage bargains I will be sharing...these were the plus point of my week. Oh and seeing my family. Aww.
